Dr. (Mrs.) Patricia Pinamang Acheampong is a Senior Research Scientist specialised in Agricultural Economics at the Crops Research Institute. She has worked as both lead agricultural economist and as a member of research team in both international and local funded research works. Her research professional interest is agricultural development and production economics. She is specifically interested in structural change, from subsistence agriculture to commercial agriculture for livelihood development of smallholder farmers. She has much experience in agricultural marketing, teaching farmer groups and other stakeholders about agricultural marketing dynamics. She has worked with teams on projects and programmes like the West Africa Agricultural productivity programme, Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa projects, Pan-Africa Bean Research Alliance to successfully execute many agricultural projects that have led to the development   and releases of many improved varieties of maize, cassava, rice, cocoyam, beans and cowpea.
 Dr. (Mrs.) Acheampong has served in several administrative positions including acting head of division of the Resource and Crops Management and Socioeconomics of Crops Research Institute. She is currently the head of the socioeconomics section.
 Her research and training has exposed her to Europe and many parts of Africa and has won some awards including the joint recipient of the National Best Researcher award in 2015 and African Women in Agricultural Research and Development award in 2010.

She has a good number of peer reviewed publications in international journals. She has good knowledge and experience in project management and writing of research proposals for funding. She is married to Emmanuel and has three children, Ama, Edward and Kwabena.
